Job Description

Telecommunications Central Office Lead Installer overseeing installation projects for Carrier Central Office equipment. Leading a team at Pearce Services, a tech provider for critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform and master all installation skills according to Telco Standard TP76300, serving as a working lead for assigned team members.
  • Install and manage a diverse range of equipment including AC/DC Power systems, high-density fiber systems, Central Office Infrastructure, and supervisory/alarm systems.
  • Lead installation projects with proficiency in equipment such as Ciena, Fujitsu, Cisco, Nortel, Nokia, Dell, and Juniper.
  • Read and execute Method of Procedures (MOPs), follow order specifications, floor plans, and wiring documentation.
  • Interface with customers, vendors, and co-workers to complete projects effectively.
  • Perform system power-up and integration testing as required.
  • Oversee lower-level Installers/Technicians and ensure adherence to company policies, safety procedures, and documentation accuracy.
  • Conduct in-process and final quality audits to ensure industry and customer standards are met.
  • Physically install, remove, or modify equipment, cable trays, and racking based on engineering documents.
  • Execute daily quality validation on in-process and completed work.
  • Adapt duties as necessary to meet evolving business and client requirements.

Requirements:

  • Minimum eight (8) years of installation experience, with prior leadership experience preferred.
  • High school diploma with two (2) years technical school or equivalent experience in the communications installation field.
  • Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, or diagram form and address problems with variable solutions.
  • Proficient computer skills with experience in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license, ability to pass pre-employment checks, and insurability. Valid passport is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel regionally and potentially across the U.S. and internationally. Expenses are fully covered by the employer.
  • Physical ability to lift 50lbs, stand, walk, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces. Compliance with OSHA Standards is mandatory.
