Job Description
Telecommunications Field Technician providing hands-on technical execution and verification support for FAA's BNATCS project. Responsible for site survey activities and compliance with FAA standards.
Responsibilities:
- Perform independent technical verification of power, grounding, and interconnect cabling to confirm compliance with approved designs, equipment specifications, and site requirements.
- Validate wiring accuracy, labeling, continuity, and terminations in preparation for S-VCS equipment installation and activation.
- Support post-site survey activities by validating survey findings, identifying technical discrepancies, and assisting with remediation planning.
- Coordinate on-site activities with Facilities Key Personnel (KP), Engineering Services, Technical Operations (Tech Ops), and vendors.
- Perform all work in accordance with FAA safety, security, and site-specific access requirements.
Requirements:
- Associate degree or technical certification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Telecommunications, or a related discipline (or equivalent military or field experience).
- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience as an electronics technician supporting complex communications, radar, or mission-critical systems.
- Demonstrated experience performing power, cabling, and interconnect verification in operational environments.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation plans.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail in safety-critical environments.
- Proficiency using test equipment (e.g., multimeters, cable testers, continuity testers).
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
