Job Description
Throughput Center Technician coordinating nursing staffing and patient placement for Mercy’s healthcare system. Facilitating hospital throughput, resolving staffing issues, and collecting operational data.
Responsibilities:
- Deploy nursing staffing resources to facilitate cost-effective coverage for all shifts across multiple patient care areas in East Community hospitals
- Place patients in appropriate units based on physician orders and identified criteria
- Proactively analyze and identify staffing issues, focusing on resolution
- Facilitate hospital throughput
- Collect data as directed
- Perform duties consistently with Mercy’s mission, values, and Service Standards
Requirements:
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent GED
- Previous clinical experience preferred but not required; will train
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
- Excellent communication and customer service skills; ability to deal tactfully with a variety of callers
- Ability to be a supportive team member and contribute to teamwork and the team concept
- Ability to handle difficult situations with patience and tact
- Ability to multitask
- Willingness to seek out new methods and principles and incorporate them into existing practices
- Ability to uphold confidentiality and patient care principles to the fullest extent
- Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and creative problem-solving ability
