Job Description
Virtual Medical Assistant supporting telehealth visits for Heartbeat Health, a virtual-first cardiovascular care company. Preparing patients, documenting clinical information, and coordinating follow-up care remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for physician visits
- Connect with patients and ensure video and audio work
- Add interpreters as needed
- Obtain signed telehealth consent forms
- Obtain photos of insurance cards
- Take medical information over the phone
- Document medical history, medications, dosing, and primary complaint
- Obtain baseline vitals and verify baseline labs
- Conduct KCCQ surveys
- Answer incoming calls
- Make confirmation calls for upcoming appointments
- Perform chart checks and chart preparation before patient visits
- Schedule follow-up appointments and labs
- Identify opportunities for improvement and risk mitigation
- Execute policies that promote the best patient experience
- Support patients and providers in a fully remote virtual clinic environment
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required
- 1–3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, including providing virtual care to patients
- Exceptional people skills
- Strong communication skills
- Outstanding organization and multitasking skills
- Detail-oriented with a focus on process
- Self-driven and excited to support new technology
- Fast learner who is flexible and adaptable
- Passion for delivering an outstanding patient experience
- Availability Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM CST
