Job Description
Virtual Medical Assistant supporting CenterWell’s personalized senior primary care. Performing clinical, administrative, phlebotomy, medication, and electronic-records duties remotely from Texas.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first contact for patient care
- Perform administrative responsibilities in addition to patient care
- Discuss symptoms and obtain vital signs
- Administer medications and vaccines
- Perform phlebotomy and collect specimens
- Perform diagnostic screening tests
- Sterilize and clean equipment
- Maintain examination rooms
- Document information in the electronic medical records system
- Collaborate with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers
- Deliver direct patient care dependent on active certification
- Work within defined policies, procedures, expectations, and quality standards
- Travel occasionally to Humana offices for training or meetings
Requirements:
- Successful completion of Medical Assistant school/training program OR Certified/Registered Medical Assistant OR 5+ years of experience and approval from Provider
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certified
- Medical Assistant Certification or Registration required for candidates in Arizona, Indiana, and South Carolina
- Phlebotomy experience preferred
- Medication/vaccine administration experience preferred
- 1+ years MA experience preferred
- Value-based Care experience, including knowledge of HEDIS, Certified Phlebotomy Technician/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience preferred
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish; must pass proficiency exam before foreign language communication
- Minimum home internet speed of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload
- Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
