Job Description
VP leading Operational Risk management for MashreqBank's Corporate and Investment Banking Group, focusing on ORM_TCM. Responsible for risk assessment, compliance, and continuous improvement in practices.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of an effective operational risk management framework for CIBG, including policies, procedures, and controls.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, identify emerging risks, and propose risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with business units to ensure risk awareness and provide guidance on risk management best practices.
- Monitor and report on key risk indicators, ensuring timely escalation of significant risks to senior management.
- Stay updated on regulatory requirements and industry best practices, ensuring the bank's compliance with operational risk standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including business units, compliance, and legal teams.
- Oversee the implementation of risk management technology solutions and ensure their effective utilization.
- Conduct regular training sessions and workshops to enhance risk awareness and capabilities across the organization.
- Provide expert advice and support to senior management on complex risk-related matters.
- Drive a culture of risk awareness and accountability, fostering a proactive approach to risk management.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in operational risk management, with a strong focus on financial services, particularly corporate and investment banking.
- In-depth knowledge of financial products, services, and the associated risks, including treasury operations.
- Proven track record of leading and managing operational risk functions in a complex financial institution.
- Excellent understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices in operational risk management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and assess risks effectively.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence senior stakeholders.
- Experience in developing and implementing risk management frameworks and policies.
- Proficiency in risk management technology and data analytics tools.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in risk management, such as FRM or PRM, are highly preferred.
