Job Description

VP of Operations scaling Kinect Solar’s renewable-energy logistics and distribution business. Leading warehouses, freight, project delivery, KPIs, and operating systems for growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the operations organization across warehouse, logistics, inventory, fulfillment, and special projects
  • Manage and optimize the contracted warehouse and 3PL network, including carrier and partner selection, performance management, and network design
  • Direct freight strategy for specialized cargo, including heavy/oversized freight, permitting, lithium-ion hazmat handling, and insurance
  • Establish and own operational KPIs across logistics, warehouse, inventory, and fulfillment
  • Assess organizational structure, talent, and operational ownership while integrating and scaling operations
  • Support business development and sales with pipeline management, forecasting, CRM operational hygiene, and reporting infrastructure
  • Partner with Sales Leaders to translate commercial strategies into repeatable, measurable processes
  • Run weekly, monthly, and quarterly operating reviews, KPI dashboards, and accountability rhythms
  • Translate strategic priorities into operating plans and quarterly objectives with the CEO, CFO, and Sales Leaders
  • Establish accountability structures, escalation paths, and decision-making processes
  • Own end-to-end oversight of complex customer projects from contract execution through final delivery
  • Build and scale the project management function, including methodology, templates, status reporting, intake, and prioritization
  • Own project-level P&L visibility, margins, timelines, resource utilization, and post-project reviews
  • Serve as escalation point for project risks, delivery issues, and cross-functional friction
  • Partner with technology leadership on WMS, TMS, CRM, and related systems strategy
  • Define operational technology requirements, prioritize enhancements, and validate system performance
  • Lead and develop the operations organization while evaluating talent and organizational effectiveness
  • Manage offshore contractor partners supporting administrative and operational functions
  • Reinforce Kinect Solar’s culture and values
  • Build the operational execution platform to support doubling the business over the next 3+ years

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations, supply chain, logistics, or general management in a logistics or distribution business
  • At least 5 years in a senior operations leadership role (Sr Director Ops, VP Ops, SVP Ops)
  • Demonstrated experience running operating systems in a growth-stage business, including KPIs, operating cadence, project governance, and planning processes
  • Operational fluency with WMS, TMS, ERP (NetSuite a plus), and CRM systems
  • Experience managing a multi-site or contracted-warehouse network at scale
  • Track record of leading through influence and structural authority, including supporting sales infrastructure
  • Strong executive presence and ability to partner effectively with a CEO, Board, and senior executive peers
  • Experience building or leading formal project management functions, methodologies, or operational excellence initiatives
  • Hands-on experience with heavy/oversized freight, hazmat, and applicable regulatory frameworks (preferred)
  • Direct experience in renewable energy, transportation, logistics, warehousing, industrial distribution, infrastructure, or other operationally complex industries (preferred)
  • Experience in a founder-led or PE-backed growth-stage business (preferred)
  • Previous VP Ops, SVP Ops, Sr Director Ops, or senior operations executive experience in a logistics or distribution business (preferred)
  • Authorization to work in the United States is requested in the application
