Job Description
Adjunct civil engineering faculty teaching undergraduate lectures and laboratories at Cedarville University. Integrating rigorous engineering education with Christian faith and hands-on learning.
Responsibilities:
- Teach undergraduate students in the Bachelor of Civil Engineering program
- Deliver traditional lecture-style instruction and instruction in integrated laboratory course elements
- Teach immediate-need subject areas including geotechnical engineering and soil mechanics, air pollution and control, and hydrology
- Potentially teach other areas of civil engineering based on expertise
- Integrate technical civil engineering education with an active Christian faith
- Provide instruction during the academic year as instructional needs arise
Requirements:
- M.S. in Civil Engineering or related discipline, plus licensure as a registered Professional Engineer (PE); or B.S. in Civil Engineering or related discipline, plus licensure as a registered Professional Engineer (PE), plus at least 10 years licensed professional engineering experience in a relevant area of civil engineering
- Proven ability to effectively communicate subject material to students and relate with students and colleagues
- Commitment to biblical integration in and out of the classroom
- Must be a born-again Christian with a personal commitment to Jesus Christ
- Must agree with and be willing to abide by Cedarville University's Doctrinal Statement, Community Covenant, and general Workplace Standards
- Subject to verification of credentials and other information required by law and Cedarville University policies
- Successful completion of a criminal history investigation
