Job Description

Advocate delivering supervised drafting, advisory, and courtroom services through DAC Beachcroft’s integrated barristers chambers. Building county court procedure, advocacy, and litigation skills before pupillage.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver advisory, drafting, and advocacy services to insurer and corporate clients
  • Complete a tailored training programme covering county court procedure, law, and litigation tactics
  • Shadow experienced team members
  • Draft and prepare cases
  • Attend court
  • Report on and analyse cases
  • Undertake drafting, advisory, and court work under supervision once signed off
  • Expand the complexity and scope of work subject to rights of audience
  • Develop advocacy and litigation skills

Requirements:

  • Pursuing a career at the Employed Bar
  • Completed LLB (or equivalent)
  • Completed BPTC (or equivalent)
  • Previous advocacy experience is desirable but not essential
  • Previous paralegal or litigation experience, particularly in one of the listed practice areas, is desirable but not essential
  • Candidates from North West England are welcomed
  • Rights of audience applicable to the work undertaken
