Job Description
Area Sales Manager growing KOMPAN’s educational playground, outdoor learning, sport and fitness solutions across South East England. Building customer relationships and progressing consultative sales from opportunity to order.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and grow KOMPAN’s education-sector business across the South East/London territory
- Manage education-sector sales opportunities across the assigned territory
- Attend customer meetings and site visits from inbound enquiries, appointments and self-generated activity
- Build relationships with decision-makers and stakeholders in schools, academies, nurseries, colleges, universities and other education providers
- Understand customer objectives, budgets, funding, timescales and project requirements
- Provide consultative advice on playground, outdoor learning, sport and activity solutions
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop designs, proposals and quotations
- Present KOMPAN solutions and demonstrate their value
- Generate new opportunities through prospecting and relationship development
- Progress opportunities from initial meeting through to order
- Maintain accurate sales pipelines and customer records in CRM
- Plan customer visits to maximise productive selling time and minimise unnecessary travel
- Prepare and follow up on quotations, designs and proposals
- Negotiate commercially while protecting margin and value
- Maintain customer communication throughout the sales process and report projected-order forecasts
- Develop long-term relationships that generate repeat business and referrals
Requirements:
- Knowledge of the education sector and complex sales processes
- Strong consultative sales and relationship-building skills
- Excellent face-to-face communication and presentation skills
- Commercial focus with strong negotiation skills
- Proactive new business development approach
- Excellent territory, diary and time management
- Ability to understand customer needs and translate them into suitable solutions
- Strong pipeline and CRM management
- Ability to manage multiple projects and opportunities simultaneously
- Self-motivated, organised and results-focused
- Strong team-working and communication skills
- Willingness and ability to work in a field-based role, travel to customer meetings and site visits, and spend most days on the road
