Job Description
Associate Contract Manager leading contract negotiation, risk assessment, and client coordination for Thermo Fisher Scientific’s global clinical research services.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the review, negotiation, and finalization of contract templates, processes, and negotiation parameters with clients
- Provide contractual risk assessments and liaise with the legal department during country process improvement initiatives
- Negotiate contractual terms and conditions within approved parameters and follow escalation routes
- Communicate approved contract templates, processes, negotiation parameters, and client expectations to assigned team members
- Ensure collaboration and quality alignment with contractual terms, processes, and client expectations
- Identify and assess legal, financial, and operational risks
- Act as a regional interface and escalation contact with external clients
- Provide recommendations and alternative resolutions for contract negotiations
- Coordinate site startup activities affected by contractual activities with internal functional departments
- Contribute to departmental change initiatives
- Complete periodic quality reviews and peer feedback reports
- Deliver training materials to team members
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
- 5+ years of previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job
- Mastery of contract law principles
- General understanding of business, intellectual property, local tax, and stamp laws across several regions
- Thorough understanding of business, contractual, and financial principles related to service agreements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to draft and negotiate contract provisions within parameters
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent analytical and decision-based thinking
- In-depth understanding of clinical drug development and trial processes, attained within the pharmaceutical and/or CRO industry
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Customer-focused communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
- Proficiency with automated systems and Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Excellent problem-solving, risk-assessment, and impact-analysis abilities
- Must be able to work in an office / remote environment
