Job Description
Auto Litigation Specialist resolving complex towing, storage, relocation, and lien disputes for Allstate Canada’s insurance claims operations. Negotiating cost-effective outcomes and supporting litigation processes.
Responsibilities:
- Manage complex vehicle relocation, storage, and lien-related disputes throughout the total loss claims process
- Review and assess RSLA referrals and investigate vehicle relocation, towing, storage, and repair facility disputes
- Negotiate with tow yards, storage facilities, repair shops, legal representatives, and other involved parties
- Develop strategies for timely and cost-effective claim resolutions
- Maintain detailed file documentation, negotiation history, and decision rationale in claims systems
- Analyze storage, towing, and related charges to identify cost-mitigation opportunities
- Conduct cost-benefit assessments and recommend dispute resolution options
- Influence external vendors and stakeholders to achieve favorable outcomes
- Escalate matters requiring management review with recommendations supported by financial analysis
- Coordinate litigation-related activities and support the Payment into Court process
- Prepare documentation for legal review and court proceedings
- Collaborate with internal and external legal partners on litigated files
- Track recovery opportunities and handle return-of-funds transactions
- Partner with Total Loss, Salvage, Finance, Legal, and other Claims teams on file strategy
- Provide technical guidance on RSLA legislation, towing practices, and storage disputes
- Support process improvement, reporting, governance, and tracking activities
- Monitor trends and identify opportunities to reduce claim costs, improve cycle times, and strengthen operational controls
Requirements:
- Claims handling experience, preferably within Auto Claims, Total Loss, Subrogation, Salvage, or Litigation
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to review financial exposure and conduct cost-benefit analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of the Repair and Storage Liens Act (RSLA) and vehicle relocation processes preferred
- Experience working with legal counsel, court processes, or litigation management preferred
- Experience in Total Loss, Salvage, Subrogation, Recovery, or related claims disciplines preferred
- Advanced analytical and reporting capabilities preferred
