Job Description
Senior payor strategist expanding sustainable contracts for Bicycle Health, a telemedicine provider treating opioid use disorder. Negotiating value-based agreements and managing strategic healthcare accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Formulate and execute comprehensive payor strategies and business plans to drive departmental sales goals.
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of complex payout contracts, letters of agreement, and contract revisions, including initiating, negotiating, renegotiating, and executing them.
- Establish, scale, and nurture regional and strategic account relationships at multiple levels with partners.
- Communicate Bicycle Health’s unique value proposition to the market.
- Use financial modeling to assess payor rate sustainability and proposed rates for new accounts or rate changes.
- Contract with new partners and negotiate sustainable rate schedules, implementing bundled or value-based pricing strategies when possible.
- Ensure contract language aligns with Bicycle Health’s interests.
- Implement payor contracts to maximize potential revenue and pull-through opportunities.
- Expand existing relationships by renegotiating rates, introducing value-based models, and expanding go-to-market efforts.
- Complete designated profiles and documentation for new deals.
- Document progress in sales support applications and communicate consistently regarding sales forecasting.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on payor contract implementation and strategic account management.
- Partner with Revenue Cycle Management, Licensing and Credentialing, Compliance, Marketing, Operations, Enrollment, and other stakeholders to ensure contract alignment and execution.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 5+ years of business development experience in the payor sector; value-based care experience is a plus
- Existing relationships with and experience selling value-based products/services to Regional Payors
- Ability to review contracts, respond with readiness, and negotiate win-win deals with Payors
- Prior experience working with Revenue Cycle Management teams and contract implementation
- Strong communication and creative problem-solving abilities
- Highly collaborative, goal-oriented, and confident team player
- Ability to receive feedback and improve skill sets in a fluid and changing environment
- Self-starter able to work autonomously, escalate appropriately, and operate comfortably with ambiguity
- Skilled in documentation and familiar with CRM use; strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively
- Prioritization skills to meet long- and short-term goals
- Consistent access to a private work environment with high-speed internet, professional surroundings for frequent video conferencing, and a workstation suitable for remote work
