Job Description
Automation Engineer building Azure, API, and business-system workflows for Satellite Office’s offshore teams in the Philippines. Improving operational processes through code, AI, and CI/CD.
Responsibilities:
- Design and build workflow automations across Hickory's technology environment
- Develop and maintain API-based system integrations
- Build and maintain Azure-based cloud infrastructure and services
- Write and maintain scripts and small applications to extend automation capabilities
- Apply version control and CI/CD practices to automation code
- Contribute to technical and solution design for automation and process-improvement projects
- Use AI tools to identify automation opportunities and accelerate development and troubleshooting
- Support monitoring, logging, QA, and testing across automated workflows
- Escalate issues promptly
- Partner with operational and business stakeholders to identify manual, error-prone, or repetitive processes for automation
Requirements:
- 3 to 5 years relevant experience
- Experience with Azure or another major cloud platform
- Hands-on experience building workflow automations using Workato, Power Platform, or comparable tooling
- Solid understanding of APIs and system-integration patterns
- Programming or scripting proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or C#
- Practical experience with version control such as Git and CI/CD pipelines
- Working AI literacy and comfort using AI-assisted tools
- Experience contributing to technical or solution design for automation or process-improvement initiatives
- Exposure to monitoring/logging, QA/testing, or manufacturing/warehousing/operational systems is an advantage, not a requirement
- Practical, hands-on problem solver with a process-improvement mindset
