Job Description

Automation Engineering Technician installing, repairing, and commissioning conveyor, sorter, and robotic systems. Supporting controls engineers and maintenance operations for Fortune 500 warehouse customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of automated conveyor, sorter, and robotic systems
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues in real time
  • Work alongside controls engineers to monitor and adjust PLC and HMI systems, including Allen-Bradley and Siemens
  • Assist in system startups, safety checks, and commissioning of new automation equipment
  • Operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment safely and efficiently
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying root causes of downtime and proposing solutions
  • Maintain accurate service logs and communicate with operations and engineering teams
  • Assist Senior Automation Technicians
  • Update and maintain accurate records
  • Schedule follow-on maintenance
  • Inventory spare parts and tool logs
  • Travel to customer sites to install or repair automated systems for Fortune 500 companies

Requirements:

  • Associates degree preferred but not required
  • 4+ years’ experience in industrial maintenance, warehouse automation, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of electrical circuits, sensors, and PLC logic
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, safety-focused warehouse environment
  • Willingness to learn and grow within advanced automation and robotics systems
  • Certified in the ability to operate a Forklift
  • Certified in the ability to operate a Scissor Lift
