Job Description
Automation Engineering Technician installing, repairing, and commissioning conveyor, sorter, and robotic systems. Supporting controls engineers and maintenance operations for Fortune 500 warehouse customers.
Responsibilities:
- Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of automated conveyor, sorter, and robotic systems
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues in real time
- Work alongside controls engineers to monitor and adjust PLC and HMI systems, including Allen-Bradley and Siemens
- Assist in system startups, safety checks, and commissioning of new automation equipment
- Operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment safely and efficiently
- Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying root causes of downtime and proposing solutions
- Maintain accurate service logs and communicate with operations and engineering teams
- Assist Senior Automation Technicians
- Update and maintain accurate records
- Schedule follow-on maintenance
- Inventory spare parts and tool logs
- Travel to customer sites to install or repair automated systems for Fortune 500 companies
Requirements:
- Associates degree preferred but not required
- 4+ years’ experience in industrial maintenance, warehouse automation, or a related field
- Basic understanding of electrical circuits, sensors, and PLC logic
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, safety-focused warehouse environment
- Willingness to learn and grow within advanced automation and robotics systems
- Certified in the ability to operate a Forklift
- Certified in the ability to operate a Scissor Lift
