Job Description
Automation Test Engineer developing cloud-based automated testing for GDIT’s U.S. government case-management modernization. Building QA frameworks, scripts, and CI/CD integrations for enterprise applications.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and understand system requirements and capabilities for test automation
- Set up and configure test automation frameworks in cloud environments
- Facilitate continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
- Work with manual testers to prioritize automation for maximum value
- Design, develop, and run automated test scripts in the cloud
- Comply with established version control and coding standards
- Develop test procedures to validate and verify requirements and capabilities
- Configure test environments and test data sets
- Plan testing cycles and perform software lifecycle management activities
- Apply software development lifecycle knowledge to anticipate system complexities
- Test modern web client technologies and front-end-to-backend interactions
- Develop and test software using Agile/Scrum methodology
- Write test cases and test plans, execute test scripts, report defects, and prepare test results reports
- Design, develop, and execute the QA process and testing documentation
- Develop automated test scripts for ReactJS and NodeJS applications using specified testing tools
- Define automation test strategies for cloud-based greenfield application initiatives
- Test APIs through gateways and cloud services
- Set up and configure automation frameworks in Azure or AWS
- Test containerized applications
- Manage and execute tests using NUnit and TestNG
- Develop test plans, procedures, expected outcomes, and verification statements
- Work with customer stakeholders and build customer relationships
- Identify and apply industry tools, solutions, methods, best practices, and emerging technologies
- Formulate and communicate recommendations for improvement
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Support the Case Management Modernization Program, building and supporting enterprise-class software applications for the Administrative Office of the US Courts
Requirements:
- 5+ years of related experience
- Bachelor of Science
- 5+ years of integration, regression, and system testing using automated testing tools in web-based applications
- Experience writing test cases and test plans, executing test scripts, reporting defects, and preparing test results reports
- Experience across the entire QA life cycle and testing documentation
- Experience developing automated test scripts with ReactJS, NodeJS, Selenium, Playwright, Jest, Mocha, and Chai
- Experience setting up and configuring test automation frameworks in cloud environments; AWS/Azure preferred
- Experience defining automation test strategies for cloud-based greenfield application development
- Experience testing APIs through gateways and cloud services
- Expert knowledge of industry-standard cloud-based test automation frameworks
- Familiarity with cloud technology concepts, including SaaS
- Experience testing containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, or similar tools
- Experience managing and executing tests using NUnit and TestNG
- Comprehensive understanding of Cloud, Agile, and DevSecOps methodologies and culture
- Working knowledge of source version control, build/release tools, and software build processes
- Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with stakeholders at every level and build customer relationships
- Ability to identify and apply industry tools, solutions, methods, best practices, and emerging technologies
- Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
- Ability to obtain a position of Public Trust with the Administrative Office of the US Courts
- Must be a US Person: Green Card Holder, US Permanent Resident Alien, Refugee, Asylee, or US Citizen
- No security clearance currently required; no clearance required to obtain
- Less than 10% travel required
