Job Description
PhD STEM expert evaluating Dutch-language scientific AI responses for Mercor. Writing specialist prompts and annotating model safety, accuracy, and helpfulness.
Responsibilities:
- Write expert-level prompts in Netherlands Dutch across specialized scientific topics
- Evaluate and annotate model responses for scientific accuracy, helpfulness, and appropriate handling of sensitive content
- Apply structured guidelines to classify prompts and conversations
- Help make advanced AI models safer
- Apply scientific expertise to evaluate and strengthen how AI models handle specialized technical topics in Dutch
Requirements:
- PhD in chemistry, biology, or a closely related field, ongoing or completed
- Native or near-native fluency in Dutch as spoken in the Netherlands
- Business-level written English
- Currently based in the Netherlands
- Deep familiarity with modern laboratory and computational techniques in the relevant subfield
- Sound judgment regarding scientific safety and responsible handling of dual-use information
- Depth to write prompts across chemical, biological, or radiological and nuclear subject areas
- Radiological and nuclear coverage from a chemistry background is welcome, including radiochemistry, nuclear chemistry, energetic materials, or radiation physics
- Demonstrated depth in a specific subfield such as organic or inorganic synthesis, molecular biology, microbiology, virology, or genetics
- Research or coursework touching on chemical safety and security, biosafety and biosecurity, or hazardous-materials handling
- Experience reviewing, grading, or red-teaming technical content is a plus
- Independent contractor engagement
- Unable to support H1-B or STEM OPT candidates at this time
