Job Description

Bilingual Patient Coordinator supporting U.S. healthcare operations from Colombia. Coordinating patients, appointments, referrals, documentation, and follow-ups in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate communication between patients, families, healthcare providers, caregivers, and internal teams
  • Schedule appointments and follow-ups and assist with day-to-day patient coordination
  • Maintain accurate patient information and documentation within EHR/EMR systems
  • Handle inbound and outbound patient calls, emails, and follow-ups
  • Process referrals and assist with insurance eligibility verification and prior authorizations when required
  • Conduct patient follow-ups and help resolve scheduling, documentation, or service-related issues
  • Coordinate with home care services, medical equipment providers, and other healthcare resources when needed
  • Escalate urgent patient concerns, service delays, or care gaps to the appropriate team
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient confidentiality at all times

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting a U.S.-based healthcare organization or medical practice
  • Fluent English and Spanish with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with patient coordination, medical administration, scheduling, intake, or similar healthcare support
  • Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems and healthcare documentation
  • Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple patients, tasks, and follow-ups simultaneously
  • Reliable computer, internet connection, and remote workspace
  • Previous experience as a Patient Coordinator, Care Coordinator, Intake Coordinator, Home Care Coordinator, or Medical VA is nice to have
  • U.S. home health or home care experience is nice to have
  • Insurance verification or prior authorization experience is nice to have
  • Experience with HHAeXchange, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar healthcare systems is nice to have
  • Previous experience working remotely with a U.S.-based healthcare team is nice to have
