Job Description

Bilingual remote patient services representative supporting New Jersey clinics. Handling patient calls, appointments, records, and digital documents from Colombia or Costa Rica.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer approximately 30 inbound patient calls per day and respond to general questions
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments while maintaining accurate information
  • Look up patient records and navigate digital systems to locate relevant information
  • Receive documents through digital eFax and upload them accurately into appropriate patient records/systems
  • Support basic administrative tasks, follow-ups, and document management
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle patient information responsibly
  • Use VoIP, digital eFax, patient portals, and other clinic systems
  • Remotely support New Jersey clinics and reduce administrative workload for medical staff

Requirements:

  • Fluent Spanish and professional/fluent English communication skills
  • 1–4 years of experience in customer service, virtual assistance, call center, or administrative support
  • Strong phone-based customer service and communication skills
  • Clear, empathetic, and patient-focused communication style
  • Comfortable learning and navigating digital tools and multiple systems
  • Ability to work consistently from 9:00 AM–5:30 PM EST
  • Basic understanding of confidentiality and appropriate handling of sensitive information
  • Previous experience supporting healthcare organizations, clinics, or medical offices (preferred)
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, patient records, EHR systems, or AthenaHealth (preferred)
  • Experience handling high-volume inbound calls (preferred)
  • Prior experience working with eFax, VoIP phone systems, or patient portals (preferred)
  • Experience supporting elderly patients or other sensitive patient interactions (preferred)
  • Previous remote work experience (preferred)
  • HIPAA awareness or experience working in a regulated environment (preferred)
