Job Description

U.S. Bank business card consultant growing profitable commercial account relationships in California. Driving new business, consultative sales, referrals, and portfolio growth for business payment products.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop profitable business account relationships
  • Increase profitability from existing and new accounts
  • Identify business opportunities based on knowledge of clients, markets, products, and services
  • Make sales presentations to existing and prospective clients
  • Explain the benefits of the organization's products and services to meet client needs
  • Implement and maintain an effective referral network
  • Maintain a call program to promote sales
  • Prospect new business opportunities and manage deals from strategy through close
  • Manage sales pipeline activity, leads, activities, and sales performance
  • Partner with internal teams to grow and retain existing portfolio customers
  • Travel locally, regionally, and occasionally nationally

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Seven to nine or more years of relevant work experience
  • Ability to travel (local and regional, some national)
  • Prior experience in business card sales/payments
  • Strong sales and new business development skills, including prospecting new logo opportunities, consultative discovery, and driving deals from strategy through close
  • Experience working with mid-size to large businesses, including clients with $10MM+ in annual revenue
  • Strong credit analysis and financial assessment skills
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles related to financial transactions
  • Proven success developing and leveraging Centers of Influence (COIs)
  • Ability to manage pipeline activity with strong follow-up and execution discipline
  • Solid knowledge of payment products
  • General understanding of product marketing and organizational operations
  • Strong customer relationship management skills, including negotiation, decision-making, and creative problem resolution
  • Ability to partner with internal teams to grow and retain existing portfolio customers
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM tools
  • Ability to comply with U.S. Bank policies and procedures, including the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and workplace conduct and safety policies
  • Compliance with applicable background-check and regulatory requirements, including those that may apply under FINRA, NMLS, Reg Z, Reg G, OFAC, NFA, FCPA, Bank Secrecy Act, and SAFE Act
