Job Description
Cardiovascular sales specialist advancing Merck’s prescription medicines across Northern Arizona. Managing healthcare relationships, compliant product discussions, and territory sales planning.
Responsibilities:
- Drive meaningful patient impact by leveraging scientific expertise and serving as the primary contact for customers within the assigned territory
- Collaborate with Account Executives, Integrated Delivery Systems leaders, and other field colleagues as part of the local Customer Team
- Cover Northern Arizona, including Phoenix, Scottsdale, Glendale, Flagstaff, and Prescott
- Develop and manage relationships with cardiologists, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals
- Engage with physicians’ offices, integrated delivery systems, pharmacies, and hospital clinics
- Develop and execute a territory-level business plan aligned with company policies, standards, and ethics
- Maintain current product knowledge and certifications for the company portfolio
- Conduct balanced and compliant product sales discussions with healthcare providers and business professionals
- Provide management with regular updates on customer needs, marketplace dynamics, and progress toward quality goals
- Monitor business performance against objectives using company tools to support planning and sales impact
Requirements:
- S1: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS), or high school diploma or equivalent with 0–3 years of relevant work experience
- S2: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS), or high school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of sales experience, or high school diploma with at least 6 years of relevant work experience
- Ability to analyze complex data and develop strategic sales plans
- Comfortable using digital tools and platforms to engage healthcare professionals
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to build and maintain customer relationships
- Residence in the territory or within 25 miles of the workload center for designated metro territories, or within 75 miles for non-metro territories; otherwise willingness to relocate at own expense
- Background in sales, account management, consultative roles, or customer service preferred
- Experience analyzing metrics to evaluate progress toward goals preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant sales experience preferred
- Cardiovascular sales experience and established relationships with cardiologists and endocrinologists preferred
- Experience launching products and succeeding in competitive markets preferred
- Ability to simplify complex information and convey technical details clearly
- Proficiency in advanced analytics and customer insights
- Comfort leveraging multi-channel tools and technology
- Travel may be required, including approximately 25% overnight travel
- No visa sponsorship
