Job Description
Cardiovascular sales specialist serving Merck’s Metro Detroit healthcare territory. Building provider relationships, executing territory plans, and delivering compliant product discussions.
Responsibilities:
- Drive meaningful patient impact by leveraging scientific expertise and serving as the primary customer contact
- Collaborate with Account Executives, Integrated Delivery Systems leaders, and field colleagues
- Cover the Metro Detroit territory and surrounding areas, including Detroit, Downriver, Dearborn, Northville, Livonia, and Flint
- Develop and manage relationships with cardiologists, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals
- Engage with physicians’ offices, integrated delivery systems, pharmacies, and hospital clinics
- Develop and execute a territory-level business plan
- Maintain current product knowledge and certifications
- Conduct balanced and compliant product sales discussions
- Provide management with updates on customer needs, marketplace dynamics, and quality-goal progress
- Stay knowledgeable about approved company products, disease, and marketplace information
- Monitor business performance against objectives using company tools
Requirements:
- S1 Level: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS), or high school diploma or equivalent with 0–3 years of relevant work experience
- S2 Level: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS), or high school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of sales experience, or high school diploma with at least 6 years of relevant work experience
- Ability to analyze complex data and develop strategic sales plans
- Comfortable using digital tools and platforms to engage with healthcare professionals
- Flexible and adaptable to changing market conditions and customer expectations
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to build and maintain customer relationships
- Reside in the territory or within 25 miles of the workload center for designated metro territories; otherwise willing to relocate at own expense
- Preferred: background in sales, account management, consultative roles, or customer service
- Preferred: experience analyzing metrics to evaluate progress toward goals
- Preferred: minimum of 3 years of relevant sales experience
- Preferred: cardiovascular sales experience with established relationships with cardiologists and endocrinologists
- Preferred: experience launching products and succeeding in competitive markets
- Preferred: ability to simplify complex information and convey technical details clearly
- Preferred: proficiency in advanced analytics
- Preferred: familiarity with multi-channel tools and technology
- Preferred: proactive learning approach and agile growth mindset
