Job Description
Epic Analyst configuring, testing, and supporting EHR applications for St. Charles Health System, a Central Oregon healthcare provider. Improving workflows, data integrity, and clinical system performance.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute all facets of the software application life cycle for applications supporting hospitals and ambulatory clinics
- Conduct design, build, testing and deployment of the Epic Electronic Health Record and supporting IT systems
- Install and implement system patches, service packs and version upgrades
- Lead process improvement efforts and maintain a roadmap for future system improvements
- Build and maintain system control and application configuration data
- Lead integrated workgroups across application and operational teams
- Perform in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details and technical issues associated with the Epic EHR
- Investigate standardization and process improvement opportunities and make build decisions
- Organize, prioritize and implement system enhancements
- Ensure interfaced data meets business requirements and maintain data integrity and security
- Maintain Epic Gold Stars program requirements and Honor Roll criteria
- Evaluate Community Connect needs and integration with design
- Participate in governance committees
- Obtain proficiencies in other applications including Data Courier
- Design and execute application testing and support large-scale testing efforts
- Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, document problems and escalate issues when necessary
- Manage systems to ensure service level agreements are met
- Collaborate with caregivers, vendors, system users, infrastructure teams and management
- Assist with user training and mentor Application Analyst Level I employees
- Provide business and system performance reporting
- Manage small-scale projects and complete project management deliverables
- Develop system documentation and draft minor policy and procedure changes
- Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours escalation calls
- Support organizational vision, mission, values and continuous improvement principles
- Deliver timely, efficient and accurate customer service and/or patient care
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university OR equivalent work experience and similar successful professional experience may be substituted for Bachelor’s degree
- Epic certification in 1 application
- Must complete Epic certification training if not already Epic certified in the most recent version of the Epic EHR product
- Must pass Epic certification exam within 3 months of completing Epic certification training courses
- Ability to meet St. Charles Health System driving requirements
- Ability to travel to business functions/trainings/meetings and all St. Charles Health System worksites
- Minimum of four (4) years paid experience, two (2) of which need to be as an Epic Analyst
- Two years of experience in a healthcare environment including systems and procedure analysis, project management, system support or operational experience in business or clinical area
- Experience with Hospital-based and Ambulatory Clinic-based applications such as 3M, GE, WorkDay, Cerner, Allscripts or McKesson preferred
- Ability to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
- Ability to multi-task and work independently
- Effective verbal and written communication with customers, peers, vendors, physicians, caregivers and managers
- Ability to interact with a diverse population and professionally represent SCHS
