Job Description
Remote Claims Supervisor overseeing property insurance claims examiners for dwelling and commercial losses. Ensuring compliant investigations, accurate settlements, and efficient claims operations.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of claims examiners investigating property insurance claims for dwelling or commercial losses
- Verify coverage and authorize timely payments to policyholders
- Review examiner correspondence for accuracy and completeness
- Ensure field adjuster work product complies with CFP Independent Adjuster guidelines
- Review reserves and provide reserve recommendations
- Communicate with examiners and others to secure missing information
- Assist with negotiating difficult settlements and ensure settlements reflect insured losses
- Evaluate, coach, and lead assigned examiners
- Confer with Claims management and/or legal counsel on legal issues or litigation
- Document claims activity clearly and concisely
- Examine questionable claims and determine payment authorization
- Conduct daily diary reviews to ensure timely status letters
- Review and approve claims within designated authority
- Verify and analyze data used in settling claims
- Lead and participate in special projects improving department quality, efficiency, and customer service
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
- Excellent customer service, oral and written communication skills
- 2 years of property claims supervisory experience preferred
- Experience managing and settling dwelling or homeowners property losses
- Experience with claims litigation, appraisal, and mediation
- Working experience with MS-Office (especially Word and Excel) is required
