Job Description

Clinical Training Specialist providing in-person case coverage and training for Varian Interventional Solutions products. Ensuring product use and technical support in fast-paced procedural environments with regional travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-person case coverage
  • Ensure product/s and ancillary components are available for each case.
  • Complete and process all procedure related paperwork as required.
  • Track and report all customer complaints.
  • Ensure physicians and staff have the most current information available.
  • Manage a disposable inventory sufficient to cover assigned case load.
  • Bring products (including Microwave and Cryoablation generators) to cases as required.
  • Train and educate physicians and hospital staff on use of assigned VIS products
  • Provide on-site clinical support during procedures while maintaining a “hands off” posture in relation to direct patient contact.
  • Interact with customers and functional organizations to determine their training needs and use engineering documentation such as Operators Manuals and DFUs to develop content of courses.
  • May coordinate or lead customer and/or employee training classes.
  • May also conduct large group presentations at seminars, training programs, and trade shows.
  • May also provide demo support to local, regional and national customer trade events.
  • Provide first line product technical support
  • Perform new installation support to ensure products are working as specified.
  • Provide first line technical service support via Engineering or Field Service Engineer oversight, when necessary.
  • Collaborate with the VIS Medical Affairs Team
  • Assist Medical Education, Medical Information, and Medical Science Liaisons if required.
  • Document day to day interactions with physician customers.
  • Provide competitive product performance information to headquarters marketing or engineering groups.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred
  • Clinical Background – IR/CT Technician, Operating Room Nurse or Surgical Technician preferred
  • Experience/Knowledge of IR suite, Operating Room Protocol and Sterile Technique
  • Experience in supporting vascular procedures highly regarded
  • Experience in supporting tissue ablation procedures highly regarded
  • Ability to work in a high-intensity, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Analytical with an ability/desire to solve problems
  • Team player
  • Ability to lift approx. 150 pounds
  • Ability to travel regional and locally (approximately 50%).
