Job Description
Commercial facilities technician maintaining customer properties across South Bend. Performing HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and preventive maintenance services.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver effective, efficient, and timely facilities maintenance services to multiple customers within an assigned geographic territory
- Travel in a company van to various customer sites to maintain commercial properties
- Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on buildings, equipment, and grounds
- Perform minor plumbing maintenance, including unclogging toilets and drains, repairing leaks, and replacing fixtures
- Perform routine painting and carpentry work to maintain client facilities
- Perform minor electrical maintenance permitted without a license under state law
- Complete service and asset inspections
- Access and complete work orders using tablets and smartphones, including service notes
- Create and submit service reports and quality inspection images and reports
- Submit timesheets, expense reports, and purchase card logs
- Obtain materials and supplies required for tasks
- Maintain customer relationships and generate customer satisfaction
- Communicate with customers and internal support teams
- Complete required safety and compliance training and attend weekly safety meetings
- Provide estimates for larger projects and services needed onsite
- Complete assigned day-to-day repairs, emergency maintenance, preventive maintenance, and other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- HS diploma or Degree/Certification, or equivalent professional experience in Landscaping, Trades (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, etc), or Specialty Floor Care, preferred
- Two (2) to Five (5) years mechanical experience, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry required; or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
- Related work experience in one or more building trades
- Applicable certifications and licenses
- Valid driver’s license in good standing
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, including safety policies and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to present information in individual and small group situations
- Ability to complete assigned work orders in a timely manner and communicate work order status
- Ability to use handheld devices and business systems or document management database software
- Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
- Compliance with building codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and Company safety policies
- Experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Ability to travel locally between properties daily
- Ability to drive a company vehicle daily
- Ability to handle stressful situations and remain calm in front of customers
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds occasionally
