Job Description
Community Development Lead coordinating initiatives to enhance food sovereignty for Indigenous Communities while managing stakeholder engagement and project timelines.
Responsibilities:
- Drive post-engagement coordination: agendas, next steps, owners, and dates after every meeting.
- Maintain a 40+ account book with clear stages, risks, and funding/council timelines.
- Keep opportunities moving: schedule follow-ups, send recaps within 24–48 hours, and unblock issues fast.
- Prepare client-ready materials (emails, one-pagers, light proposals/SOWs) tailored to each community.
- Multithread stakeholders (Chief/Council, Health, Education, Lands/Water, EcDev) and maintain accurate contact maps.
- Track funding windows, eligibility criteria, and application deadlines across all active accounts.
- Partner with BD and AE to prioritize regions/opportunities and align on account plans.
- Ensure disciplined lead capture and complete 48-hour post-event follow-ups in CRM.
- Identify, track, and manage account-level risks and blockers.
Requirements:
- 2+ years in project coordination, sales coordination, customer success, or community/economic development roles supporting multi-stakeholder work.
- Experience working with First Nation/Indigenous communities or Tribal Nations (or strong motivation to learn).
- University or College Education is Not Required: We value lived experience and recognize that practical knowledge—particularly in community-based contexts—can be just as impactful as formal education.
- Communication: Exceptional presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex solutions to diverse audiences.
- Cultural Sensitivity: Familiarity with or willingness to learn about Indigenous cultures, governance frameworks, and community decision-making processes.
- Organizational Ability: Skilled at juggling multiple priorities, keeping CRM data updated, and ensuring clear next steps for all stakeholders.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment; proactive in identifying opportunities and solving problems.
- Travel: Willingness to travel for in-person meetings, conferences, and community events; occasional work outside normal office hours to accommodate various time zones.
- Valid Driver’s License: Required for travel to client sites.
