Job Description
Construction Engineer supporting engineering, RFIs, warranties, and field teams for SOLV Energy’s utility-scale solar and storage projects. Developing pile-driving training and drone-based construction monitoring.
Responsibilities:
- Support EPC operations-related engineering concerns and provide guidance on best practices from construction start through the SOLV warranty period
- Facilitate communication between operations and engineering partners
- Serve as the operations point of contact for engineering concerns and communicate design methodology and engineered solutions
- Assist with engineering-related construction RFIs during project construction
- Resolve RFIs and other operations concerns urgently
- Understand project-specific design, client/contract, and permit requirements
- Develop and maintain relationships with site teams, including Superintendents, Foremen, and Project Management
- Support operations and confirm compliance with the SOLV EPC Contract
- Direct implementation of autonomous pile-driving systems to capture material, labor, and schedule savings
- Assist operations with engineering-intensive clients and client/independent engineers
- Guide project teams through consultant design comments
- Assist the warranty team in determining responsibility for manufacturer failures, compromised design, and installation errors
- Develop and lead training on GPS-enabled pile drivers, associated software, and proprietary tools
- Support continuous construction monitoring using drone technology
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Studies, Construction Management, or related field of study
- 2–5 years of construction-related experience, or equivalent
- Excellent written communication, documentation, and organizational skills
- Aptitude for problem solving and strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work effectively independently and within a team environment
- Proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel
- Exposure in CAD/GIS and aptitude for proficiency in these and other engineering software
- Ability to read and understand project drawings and specifications
- Field experience preferred
- Ability to work in office and field settings and manage daily position responsibilities during site visits
