Job Description

Project Manager delivering federal energy-conservation construction projects for Energy Systems Group. Coordinating contractors, budgets, schedules, contracts, and customer delivery from development through closure.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all aspects of project execution from proposal development and initial energy audits through design, installation, and ongoing service phases
  • Identify preliminary Energy Conservation Measures and assist Business Development and Project Procurement Managers with estimating costs and managing accounts
  • Confer with engineering personnel on technical information
  • Procure and manage outside contractors
  • Schedule project phases and train customers' maintenance personnel
  • Manage project budgets, change management, revenue projections, customer billings, and quarterly updates
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal personnel, contractors, subcontractors, and customer agents
  • Coordinate project installation and ensure proposals and projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Coordinate estimates and pricing with Project Procurement and Business Development Managers
  • Manage client contracts, safety, site rules, and terms and conditions
  • Scope, price, and negotiate customer change orders
  • Maintain ongoing client contact regarding work scheduling, project progress, costs, and training
  • Obtain contractor, supplier, and vendor quotes
  • Lead contractor and vendor selection and assist procurement with issuing contracts
  • Develop contracting strategies, bid documents, bid evaluations, final contract documents, and third-party contracts
  • Maintain project schedules and manage contractor and subcontractor work and equipment and supply arrivals

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a minimum of five (5) years' engineering and construction-related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Engineering and construction-related experience running construction projects with contract values greater than $5 million; or an equivalent combination of education and project management experience
  • Proficiency with scheduling, spreadsheets (Excel, Word), cost control, and project management software
  • Microsoft Project, Procore, and other construction programs preferred
  • Exposure to ESPC/UESC or other energy-related performance contracting project development
  • Experience working with and directing project teams
  • Experience developing schedules and budgets
  • Ability to work with customers and others in a professional and ethical manner
  • Working knowledge of EM-385, CQM (USACE certification), OSHA, and federal and state safety regulations
  • OSHA 30-hour certification required
  • First Aid certification required
  • Ability to obtain clearances to work at military and other critical government facilities
  • Experience in federal contracting is a plus
  • Professional certification such as Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
  • Ability to manage projects from development to project closure
  • Ability to manage project budgets and schedules, properly document projects, and achieve customer satisfaction
  • Frequent travel of approximately 50-90%, including overnight stays dependent on project location
