Job Description
Construction Superintendent overseeing onsite EPC construction for ESI, a biogas engineering and operations company. Managing schedules, safety, subcontractors, equipment, commissioning, and project completion.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage all on-site construction activities to align with project plans and specifications
- Reach substantial/final project completion and create punch lists
- Manage site equipment rentals and monthly cost tracking
- Execute jobsite mobilization and demobilization
- Maintain clean construction sites
- Track major equipment, valves, and parts deliveries
- Schedule cranes for offloading major equipment
- Monitor weather impacts on craft operations
- Participate in constructability reviews with engineering
- Coordinate with process, electrical, controls, SCADA, project management, and external engineering teams
- Develop and maintain construction schedules and ensure milestones are met
- Allocate labor, materials, and equipment efficiently
- Enforce safety regulations and building codes
- Conduct site inspections and ensure completion of daily Job Safety Analyses (JSAs)
- Facilitate communication among subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders
- Maintain daily logs, progress reports, and cost records
- Assist with commissioning and start-up
- Share lessons learned and encourage open discussion of mistakes and near-misses
- Collaborate with Operations, Business Development, Project Management, HR, and IT
- Apply RACI principles to special projects
- Identify opportunities to improve quality and work accuracy
- Respond to urgent issues outside normal business hours as needed
- Travel 100% each month to active construction sites
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
- 8 years of construction project experience, including a minimum of 2 years of onsite construction management experience
- Valid driver’s license for the state of residence
- Working knowledge of construction site hazard assessment
- Working knowledge of OSHA Part 1926 – Safety and Health Regulations for Construction
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Willingness and ability to respond to urgent issues outside normal business hours
- Proficiency in MS Project, Procore, or other project management/scheduling software (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent (preferred)
