Job Description
Corporate Relations Officer cultivating corporate partnerships and donor portfolios for NAACP Empowerment Programs, a racial equity nonprofit. Driving fundraising, stewardship, proposals, and business-community engagement toward social impact.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate stewardship, solicitation, and prospecting of corporate donors to meet annual fundraising targets
- Secure and build strategic partnerships with the business community in partnership with the Institutional Giving team
- Manage a portfolio of existing and prospective companies and organizations capable of gifts of up to $1M
- Secure donor renewals and increase corporate support over time
- Support Capital and Endowment Campaigns
- Implement integrated corporate engagement opportunities, events, and programmatic initiatives
- Provide high-touch donor stewardship through reports, acknowledgement letters, and frequent written communication
- Conduct corporate research and use contact management systems to track donor and prospect information in Salesforce
- Assist with planning fundraising and cultivation events with Development and Communications staff
- Represent the NAACP at events and convenings with priority donors, partners, and influencers
- Perform other duties assigned by the Development Director or designee
Requirements:
- 5 to 7+ years of fundraising experience at mission-driven nonprofit organizations or comparable business development or advocacy environments
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Excellent relationship-building skills with funders, organizational leaders, and team members
- Outstanding written communication skills and experience creating compelling funding proposals
- Experience with donor databases and/or CRM systems, preferably Salesforce
- Fluency in Salesforce
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, complex environment
- Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail
- Strong communication, writing, interpersonal, problem-solving, and strategic-thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple programs and departments
- Ability to manage multiple complex fundraising relationships simultaneously
- Ability to balance priorities and meet deadlines
- Self-directed, self-aware, self-disciplined, flexible, energetic, positive, and creative
- Passion for racial equity and social justice and strong alignment with NAACP’s mission and values
