Job Description

Cost Estimating Analyst for Northrop Grumman's Space Systems sector leading proposals and financial analysis. Collaborating with teams to ensure accurate cost estimating and proposal evaluations.

Responsibilities:

  • Compile cost, schedule, and technical elements in the development of proposals in accordance with request for proposal (RFP) specifications and other pricing/cost requirements.
  • Lead and coordinate the collection and accumulation of cost, scheduling, and performance elements from functional departments for all material/subcontractor related items.
  • Consolidate Bill of Material (BOM) requirements in support of price and/or price/cost analysis.
  • Review purchase order history, actuals, quotes, proposals to estimate the BOM.
  • Incorporate escalation and quantity variance curve factors and extended costs for required quantities.
  • Coordinate activities and participates in customer fact-finding meetings.
  • Support DCAA/DCMA audit reviews for proposals and other customer cost reviews.
  • Participate in should-cost and pricing reviews with management and customer representatives.
  • Perform data collection, normalization, and analysis.
  • Develop estimating factors, regression analyses and identify estimating relationships from company data.
  • Support cost studies using company data.
  • Identify and evaluate proposal risk issues in BOM cost estimates, terms and conditions, and all other business management related functions.
  • Support Pricing and Estimating team initiatives, to include new estimating processes and tools.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business, Accounting, or a related field with 2+ years of relevant professional experience – OR – Master’s degree in Data Science, Business, Accounting or a related field with 1+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business, Accounting, or a related field with 5+ years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree in Data Science, Business, Accounting or a related field with 3+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in business management and labor and non-labor cost estimating.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to make recommendations and provide guidance to effectively bring projects to completion.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with data transformation and normalization.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to use them in informing, presenting, negotiating and problem solving with a wide range of functions and people.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
  • US Citizenship is a prerequisite.
