Job Description

Customer-Facing Technical Engineer at Amplify managing technical issues and collaborating with merchants. Utilizing Shopify expertise to enhance customer success and product integration.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the technical point of contact for merchants across pre- and post-installation workflows
  • Troubleshoot issues related to theme conflicts, app integrations, Shopify APIs, performance, and data behavior
  • Partner with Customer Success to diagnose problems, propose solutions, and guide implementation
  • Translate technical issues into clear, actionable steps for merchants
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to escalate bugs, validate fixes, and relay outcomes
  • Participate in strategic business reviews to provide technical clarity and unlock additional value
  • Identify upsell or expansion opportunities based on technical conversations
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, playbooks, and repeatable workflows

Requirements:

  • 2 to 5 years in a customer-facing technical role (Solutions Engineer, Technical Support, Technical Success, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of the Shopify ecosystem, including: Liquid themes, Checkout behaviour, Store configuration and customization
  • Experience working directly with e-commerce merchants or SaaS e-commerce tools
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to own problems end to end
  • Nice to Have: Hands-on experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or Shopify theme customization
  • Familiarity with Shopify Plus environments and high-volume merchant needs
  • Experience with SQL and browser developer tools
  • Exposure to CRO or revenue optimization tools
