Job Description

Data Analyst focusing on IBM Cognos for business intelligence with robust SQL skills. Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining reports and dashboards across multiple business units.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop IBM Cognos reports, dashboards, and visualizations based on business requirements.
  • Work with IBM DB2 databases: create and optimize queries, schemas, and data models.
  • Validate and troubleshoot reporting outputs; independently identify and resolve data inconsistencies.
  • Manage reporting queues and prioritize incoming requests efficiently.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Document report logic, data sources, and dashboard configurations for maintainability.
  • Contribute to data quality assurance and best practices for analytics governance.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or BI Developer.
  • Expert-level proficiency in IBM Cognos Analytics (Report Studio, Dashboarding, Framework Manager).
  • Strong SQL and IBM DB2 Database experience, including schema creation and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with on-prem environments and secure data access practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to self-diagnose and resolve issues related to data accuracy and reporting logic.
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written); able to communicate clearly with U.S.-based teams.
  • Available to operate during U.S. Eastern time zone hours.
  • Knowledge of ETL workflows and data governance principles.
  • Exposure to Python for light data analysis or automation tasks.
  • Prior experience working with U.S.-based organizations as a nearshore contractor.
