Job Description

Data Exchange Analyst supporting EDI/API eligibility connections for Guardian’s insurance customers and administrators. Troubleshooting data issues, testing files, and coordinating solutions between business teams, IT, and vendors.

Responsibilities:

  • Support customers and third-party administrators with implementation, testing, and support of inbound data connections
  • Troubleshoot transmission or formatting issues for external customers and internal processing areas
  • Act as liaison between the business community and IT
  • Supply technology vendors and plan holders with plan-specific requirements based on Guardian’s internal systems and standard formats
  • Understand vendor and plan-holder data capabilities and provide solutions for nonstandard situations and formats
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding connections
  • Perform thorough user acceptance testing of inbound eligibility files
  • Provide best-in-class customer service through customers’ preferred channels
  • Handle complex calls requiring leadership through difficult technical data issues
  • Attend training, job sharing, mentoring, and networking activities
  • Maintain procedural guidelines and report system-related problems
  • Participate in team meetings and assist team members to meet deadlines and customer expectations
  • Report to the GBO Team Leader, who reports to the GBO Director

Requirements:

  • Experience working with HIPAA data files
  • Strong computer skills: Text Pad or other EDI file viewing application and MS Excel
  • Strong ability to manipulate data files to create output in various formats
  • Flexibility in handling multiple tasks, changing priorities, and tight deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated analytical skills
  • Ability to function in a team environment and build strong working relationships
  • High School or equivalent required
  • College degree preferred
  • Experience working in the insurance industry preferred
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future
  • Approximately 10% travel may be required
