Job Description
Development Manager at Worth Rises focusing on strengthening its fundraising program. Cultivating donor relationships and managing grants portfolio while collaborating with organizational leaders.
Responsibilities:
- Strengthen and grow the organization's fundraising program
- Cultivate donor relationships and manage a grants portfolio
- Identify and land meetings with new major donors
- Maintain compliance with grant reporting deadlines
- Develop a comprehensive donor cultivation and stewardship strategy
- Conduct research on potential donors
- Prepare meeting logistics for donor meetings
- Maintain a comprehensive grants calendar
- Draft grant proposals and reports
- Collaborate with program staff for proposal content
- Support the Executive Director in managing donor relationships
Requirements:
- At least five years of professional experience in non-profit development
- Demonstrated ability to manage a grants calendar and multiple donor relationships simultaneously
- Demonstrated experience identifying and qualifying new funding prospects
- Exceptionally strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience with donor databases and CRM systems
- Direct impact by the prison industry or experience working in or alongside directly impacted communities is preferred
- Working understanding of the prison industry, the criminal legal system, or strong interest in learning
