Job Description
Gartner Director Analyst developing privacy and information governance research for enterprise leaders. Advising General Counsel and assurance teams on regulations, AI governance, and data strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Create innovative, thought-provoking, highly leveraged “must-have insights” content
- Develop new insights and actionable approaches to client needs
- Serve as a leading authority on privacy and information governance topics, including GDPR, CCPA, DPIAs, data transfers, data mapping, subject rights, cookies, consent management, AI and privacy, biometrics, and consumer trust
- Track external trends in privacy, AI, and AI governance
- Collaborate with Legal, IT, Finance, and other experts to understand client challenges, evaluate vendors, and establish thought leadership
- Develop content and insight around emerging AI governance topics
- Analyze client barriers and needs to drive strategy forward
- Establish Insights positions and contribute independent perspectives to research agendas
- Research, analyze, and predict market trends and shifts
- Provide clients and prospects with actionable advice through virtual and face-to-face interactions
- Create and deliver presentation materials for Gartner events, conferences, and client briefings
- Provide sales support and help Insights teams engage clients on critical priorities
- Conduct timely, high-quality peer review of content
- Represent Gartner insights, methodology, and strategy as an industry expert
- Participate in innovation, ideation, research discussions, and collaboration across the Insights community
- Identify research process improvements and develop new processes
- Mentor and coach junior team members
- Help clients engage regularly with Gartner insights and interactions
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; JD degree preferred
- 10+ years of relevant experience in privacy, information governance, or corporate in-house legal departments
- Experience leading or coordinating privacy risk management efforts
- Experience setting or executing privacy strategy
- Experience with information or data governance across multiple stakeholder groups
- Experience reviewing and synthesizing emerging privacy and related regulations
- Experience with AI governance highly desirable
- Executive presence and ability to establish credibility with executives and stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Excellence in research and writing
- Strong written and verbal proficiency, analytical, and presentation skills
- Ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions
- Proficiency in analyzing and synthesizing data and applying patterns and frameworks
- Ability to explain complex concepts concisely and simply
- Subject matter expertise and comfort presenting at large and small-scale engagements
- Strong business and financial acumen
- Deep knowledge of the global and competitive landscape within the subject area
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams in a multicultural global environment
- Learning agility and ability to navigate highly matrixed environments
- Ability to represent Gartner's research methodology and strategies effectively
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% where applicable
