Job Description

Director Business Systems overseeing ESCAPE platform performance in commercial insurance sector. Bridging underwriting, operations, and technology for enhanced digital experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the critical bridge between Excess Casualty, Operations, and Technology to ensure the successful delivery, quality, and ongoing performance of the ESCAPE platform
  • Partner with underwriting, distribution, operations, and DuckCreek to gather, define, and document business requirements for the ESCAPE Platform
  • Translate complex underwriting workflow, appetite rules, and referral logic into clear functional specifications
  • Support prioritization of enhancements that improve underwriting efficiency, broker experience, and submission quality
  • Lead user acceptance testing in partnership with underwriting and operations teams
  • Partner with IT to ensure defects are clearly documented, prioritized, and resolved prior to release
  • Monitor post-release performance and ensure issues are quickly identified and remediated
  • Act as a first line of business-side support for ESCAPE production issues, including login problems, missing data, and workflow failures
  • Triage and prioritize issues impacting underwriting productivity or broker experience
  • Analyze user feedback, live chat trends, and operational metrics to inform enhancements
  • Coordinate with IT, Portal Support, Broker Services, and DuckCreek to resolve incidents efficiently
  • Serve as the business liaison for ESCAPE API integrations with wholesale brokers
  • Support onboarding of distribution partners to API-enabled workflows, ensuring ease of adoption and data quality

Requirements:

  • 10+ years experience in business analysis, QA, or systems roles within commercial insurance
  • Strong understanding of commercial insurance workflows, particularly excess casualty
  • Familiarity with policy administration systems
  • Knowledge of API concepts (REST, JSON, data mapping, and integration patterns)
  • Experience with Quality Assurance methodologies
  • Understanding of rules engines, rating logic, and underwriting decision workflows
  • Awareness of UX/UI considerations and their impact on broker adoption and efficiency
