Job Description
Director shaping internal communications and employer brand at Circle, a digital financial platform company. Leading employee messaging, talent storytelling, EVP, and AI-enabled communications operations.
Responsibilities:
- Drive Circle’s internal communications and employer brand functions
- Develop internal communications plans for major initiatives, organizational moments, and company priorities
- Shape communications around company strategy and OKRs for employees across functions and regions
- Build and scale internal communications programs for a distributed workforce
- Maintain editorial planning, channel governance, distribution practices, and measurement frameworks
- Own Circle’s intranet strategy and evolution in partnership with IT
- Support sensitive, high-stakes, and change-related communications
- Evolve Circle’s employee value proposition in partnership with Talent Acquisition, People leadership, and Marketing
- Lead employer brand storytelling and content strategy across careers content, employee stories, social content, recruiting campaigns, and talent-facing moments
- Strengthen candidate experience using survey insights, feedback, and market signals
- Build employer brand intelligence infrastructure, including LLM/AI sentiment monitoring and competitive benchmarking
- Drive Circle’s presence in employer awards and talent-focused external opportunities
- Build and own Circle’s alumni network
- Ensure alignment between employer brand, people narrative, and corporate story
- Oversee executive messaging, employee features, onboarding communications, event content, and campaign materials
- Partner with Corporate Communications, Talent Acquisition, Employee Experience, and People & Workplace teams
- Drive employee lifecycle communications, especially new-hire and onboarding communications
- Advise People & Workplace leadership, Corporate Communications, and cross-functional stakeholders
- Apply change-management principles to communications planning
- Build AI-enabled workflows and use AI for research, drafting, localization, content adaptation, measurement, and workflow design
- Contribute reusable prompts, templates, and automations to Circle’s shared AI ecosystem
- Identify automation opportunities and model judgment around appropriate AI use
Requirements:
- 12+ years of progressive experience in internal communications, marketing, HR communications, content strategy, or a related field
- Meaningful experience operating in complex, cross-functional environments
- Exceptional writing and editorial judgment across formats
- Ability to adapt voice and messaging for executives, employees, candidates, and cross-functional audiences
- Strong strategic instincts and operational discipline
- Track record driving internal communications programs at a fast-moving, global company
- Experience with communications planning, leadership messaging, editorial strategy, and stakeholder advisory work
- Experience shaping or scaling employer brand efforts, including EVP development, talent storytelling, campaign planning, or employer brand measurement
- Comfort using data and insights to assess effectiveness and improve communications outcomes
- Ability to influence across functions and levels and drive progress through partnership
- People management experience and track record of developing talent, giving clear feedback, and building strong teams
- Demonstrated AI fluency in a communications, content, or brand context
- Preferred: background in financial services, fintech, digital assets, or another fast-evolving, highly regulated industry
- Preferred: experience supporting communications through rapid growth, organizational change, IPO, M&A, or rapid scaling
