Job Description
Director of Marketing and Communications at Generation Citizen promoting civic education and student voice. Overseeing marketing strategies, content creation, and team management.
Responsibilities:
- Architect and oversee a comprehensive, multi-channel marketing and communications strategy
- Define the strategic vision for national content
- Manage and refine GC’s national brand strategy
- Leverage data and analytics to drive digital marketing growth
- Define the strategic PR roadmap
- Build and maintain relationships with key media outlets
- Lead daily content creation and project management
- Engineer communication workflows and infrastructure
- Lead, mentor, and coach the communications team
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a communications-focused role
- Experience managing at least one direct report for at least one year
- Demonstrated capacity to communicate public policy information to non-specialist audiences
- Demonstrated outstanding writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Proficient in developing and editing compelling materials; expertise in Google Docs/Sheets, Canva, Hootsuite, and social media tools
- Proven track record of executing communications tasks with high autonomy
- Strong relationship-builder and empathetic listener
- Highly collaborative spirit with a focus on project management
