Job Description

Director, Medical Science Liaison overseeing a 6-person team in Plastics & Regenerative Medicine. Combining leadership with active field presence for scientific stakeholder engagement and team management.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, strategic direction, and day-to-day operational management of a 6-person MSL team
  • Maintain an active field presence as the primary MSL for a small, dedicated territory
  • Ensure the team is adequately staffed and trained
  • Execute robust MSL stakeholder engagement plans
  • Ensure MSL scientific engagements with external experts/HCPs are of high scientific quality
  • Monitor overall MSL team activities and workload
  • Conduct regular field co-rides and 1:1s with direct reports
  • Drive recruitment activities and ensure on-boarding and training of new MSLs
  • Oversee operational logistics including MSL tool management and vendor contracting
  • Responsible for financial and administrative management for the MSL team

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in health sciences or clinical discipline required
  • Solid knowledge of the pharmaceutical environment
  • Minimum of 5 years clinical, scientific/research, or pharma industry related experience
  • At least 2 years as an MSL
  • Prior line management experience of a field-based MSL team preferred
  • Excellent written and spoken communication and presentation skills
  • Proven success in managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience managing and resolving challenging personnel issues
  • Ability to travel regularly (50–60%) to support KOL engagement and team co-rides
  • Experience with OR/surgical suite environments and familiarity with credentialing and OR certification processes strongly preferred.
  • Ability to manage operational and administrative responsibilities alongside field engagement duties.
