Job Description
Director of Instructional Support leading elementary reading initiatives for the Elementary Reading Initiative. Building data-informed plans and partnering for program implementation while strengthening instructional leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Lead elementary reading initiatives with district and school leaders
- Build data-informed plans for the improvement of elementary reading
- Strengthen leaders’ instructional and change management skills
- Partner with internal and external colleagues for coherent program implementation
- Support schools in maintaining a strong elementary reading system
- Conduct structured school walkthroughs to assess classroom instruction
- Manage partner contracts and deliverables to achieve district goals
- Evaluate and offer strategic input on design resources and frameworks
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in educational leadership, literacy instruction, or a related field
- Spanish proficiency is highly preferred
- Deep knowledge of early reading and language development
- Proficiency in analyzing student work and school-level disaggregated data
- Advanced understanding of school leadership levers and educational structures
- Proven ability to build swift rapport and provide high-stakes coaching
- Ability to apply educational research and analyze prototyped tools
