Job Description
Marketing director positioning Oxfordshire as a global hub for innovation, growth, and investment. Leading campaigns, external affairs, stakeholder engagement, and regional brand strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Build brand awareness, manage reputation, and drive audience engagement
- Position the region to attract inward investment, businesses, capital, real estate occupiers, and local talent
- Develop multi-year marketing strategies
- Execute PESO campaigns across digital, PR, and events
- Partner with Business, Skills, and Inward Investment teams on GTM plans and ABM for target prospects
- Build trust, advocacy, and influence with government departments, universities, science parks, trade bodies, and regional alliances
- Shape the Oxfordshire narrative and brand architecture
- Lead thought leadership, market research, and evidence-based propositions
- Lead the marketing and communications team and manage external agencies
- Oversee budgets and set data-driven KPIs
- Optimize digital channels, web architecture, martech/AI tools, and CRM systems for lead generation and client journeys
- Advise the executive team and prepare board papers for the Senior Leadership Team
- Represent the organisation at regional, national, and international events
Requirements:
- Proven track record in place marketing, economic development, and international market engagement within key growth sectors
- Strong strategic leadership and hands-on analytical execution skills
- Experience with ROI tracking and pipeline generation
- Media and crisis management experience
- Ability to navigate a complex, multi-stakeholder government and commercial landscape
- Experience with digital channels, web architecture, martech/AI tools, and CRM systems
- Candidates should ideally be located within or near Oxfordshire
