Job Description
Editor copyediting healthcare communications for Inizio Evoke, a pharmaceutical and life sciences agency. Fact-checking, proofreading, reference validation, and style-guide management for promotional and medical materials.
Responsibilities:
- Copyedit promotional, digital, and medical communications materials for consistency and conformance with grammar, punctuation, spelling, AMA, client, and house style guidelines
- Edit promotional advertising, websites and other digital materials, public relations and social media, and new business proposals
- Fact check information against source material
- Check changes for correctness and consistency
- Validate reference lists against provided references
- Proofread approved copy word-for-word
- Evaluate layouts for spacing, leading, kerning, type size, font, justification, and white space issues
- Update brand-specific style guides after brand and medical/legal review
- Provide general editorial assistance as needed
- Report to an Editorial Manager
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum), preferably in communications or health sciences
- Excellent eye for detail
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational, multitasking, prioritizing, and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and ability to adhere to strict and changing deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a challenging, dynamic environment
- Ability to learn and apply style guides
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
- Willingness to work extra hours to meet impending deadlines
- 1–2 years of editorial experience preferred
- Experience in healthcare marketing, pharmaceutical advertising, or medical communications is a plus
- Proficiency with American Medical Association style is a plus
