Job Description
Engineering Productivity Engineer at Supabase enhancing local development workflows and optimizing engineering processes. Focus on developer productivity with AI-assisted tools and CI systems.
Responsibilities:
- Improve local development and the daily workflow
- Own local development environment stability and onboarding
- Improve daily editing experience with IDE and editor tooling
- Build project scaffolding, templates, and golden-path workflows
- Speed up build, test, and CI
- Improve testing tooling and make it functional for engineers
- Profile build and test performance, optimize CI pipelines
- Integrate and optimize code review tooling and automated review
- Bring AI into development processes
- Measure the impact of AI tooling on productivity
- Champion engineering best practices and excellence
Requirements:
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, with a focus on developer productivity, infrastructure, or platform engineering
- Proficient in Go, TypeScript, Python, Rust, and shell
- Experience with CI/CD systems and pipeline optimization
- Experience with local development environments and reproducibility
- Experience with containerization and image optimization
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools
- Experience with test infrastructure and test orchestration
- Experience with code review and developer workflow tooling
- Experience with monorepo tooling, build systems, and package managers
- Experience with developer productivity metrics and feedback loops
- Clear communication across technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience in async or globally distributed teams
