Job Description
Freelance explosive engineering specialist challenging language models on energetic materials, detonation physics, and blast dynamics. Documenting model failures and improving AI evaluation and prompt engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Challenge advanced language models on explosive engineering topics
- Converse with models on real-world explosive scenarios and theoretical engineering problems
- Verify factual accuracy and logical soundness of model responses
- Capture reproducible error traces and document failure modes
- Suggest improvements to prompt engineering and evaluation metrics
- Help train AI models to develop technical understanding and improve reasoning in high-risk engineering domains
Requirements:
- Expertise in energetic materials, blast wave propagation, detonation physics, structural response analysis, initiation systems, explosive ordnance disposal, and safety protocol development
- Ability to assess charge design, shock dynamics, fragmentation mechanics, high-speed diagnostics, propellant chemistry, and post-blast forensics
- Ability to converse about real-world explosive scenarios and theoretical engineering problems
- Ability to verify factual accuracy and logical soundness
- Ability to capture reproducible error traces
- Ability to suggest improvements to prompt engineering and evaluation metrics
- Clear, metacognitive communication and ability to show your work
- PhD in explosive engineering, materials science, mechanical engineering, or a related field is ideal
- Published research, defense or demolition work, or hands-on detonation testing projects signal fit
