Job Description

Executive Advisor securing $10M+ transformational gifts for ALSAC, which funds St. Jude childhood cancer care and research. Advising executives, donors, and philanthropic teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of donors and drive revenue through qualification, cultivation, solicitation, closing, and stewardship of $10M+ gifts
  • Design, refine, and drive strategies for engaging individuals, families, and foundations capable of making transformational gifts
  • Provide strategic internal consulting to relationship managers on donor conversations, gift strategy, relationship building, and solicitation
  • Collaborate with the SVP – Transformational Giving, C-Suite executives, and clinical or operational hospital leadership on high-stakes donor cultivation
  • Prepare and coach leaders for pivotal donor meetings, events, and stewardship activities
  • Support advisory boards and councils and plan meaningful virtual and on-campus engagement opportunities
  • Leverage volunteer networks to identify and cultivate new transformational relationships
  • Co-create customized proposals and transformational investment opportunities aligned with donor vision and institutional mission
  • Lead and support high-profile philanthropic initiatives, institutional anniversaries, enterprise-wide campaigns, and research-focused funding priorities
  • Shape campaign strategies, donor experiences, and customized approaches for complex, time-bound opportunities

Requirements:

  • 10+ years’ relevant work experience
  • Proven experience in closing and/or advising on 8- and 9-figure philanthropic conversations, ideally in healthcare, higher education, or a complex mission-driven institution
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • Natural coach and facilitator, able to build confidence and skill in others while honoring their authentic leadership style
  • Ability to understand and translate a wide range of in-depth research initiatives and clinical care innovations into compelling, donor centered opportunities
  • Comfortable working in highly matrixed environments and influencing without formal authority
  • Exceptional emotional intelligence and ability to hold high-trust, high-impact conversations with internal and external stakeholders
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel nationally, including evenings and weekends
