Job Description
External Communications Lead responsible for building a brand identity and managing communications. Report to Corporate Communications head, oversee external presence across various platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive external communications strategy that includes print and digital content, media relations, and brand initiatives.
- Build a regular reporting cadence to measure the effectiveness of all external communications programs.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a small team of external communications and technical professionals.
- Serve as a steward of the company’s brand image and reputation.
- Maintain a strong sense of urgency and organization to manage multiple complex projects with varying deadlines.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in corporate communications or a similar role, with at least five years in a management position.
- Proven track record of managing teams, developing processes, and implementing successful communications strategies.
- A strategic thinker with a deep understanding of how communications influence business outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of website, SEO, and content analytics (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush, etc.).
- Experience with video projects and a working understanding of creative design processes are highly desirable.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a strong command of AP Style are essential.
- A confident leader who is skilled in providing feedback and coaching team members.
- Must be able to collaborate effectively with senior leadership and internal stakeholders.
