Job Description
Federal contracts consultant supporting U.S. government contractors from solicitation through closeout. Advising clients on agreements, negotiations, compliance, risk, and federal contract vehicles.
Responsibilities:
- Support pre-award through closeout across multiple clients, contract types, and federal contract vehicles
- Coordinate agreements, subcontracts, deliverables, action trackers, and contract priorities with client leadership and program management teams
- Advise clients on competitive, sole-source, and directed prime and subcontract awards
- Review complex solicitations, proposal compliance requirements, awards, modifications, risks, and deliverables
- Draft, review, redline, and negotiate NDAs, teaming agreements, subcontracts, joint ventures, GSA Contractor Teaming Arrangements, and consulting agreements
- Lead client meetings and negotiations related to proposals, modifications, termination settlements, and requests for equitable adjustment within delegated authority
- Build compliance matrices and contract briefs; help clients stay aligned with FAR, DFARS, and applicable agency supplement requirements
- Maintain accurate contract systems, deliverables, metrics, SAM.gov entity registrations, Service Contract Reporting, and certifications where needed
- Serve as a primary client contact by leading status meetings, escalating risk and noncompliance early, and adapting to each client’s systems, communication preferences, and risk tolerance
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to team learning across a collaborative contracts practice
Requirements:
- 5+ years of hands-on contract and subcontract management experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Strong working knowledge of FAR, federal acquisition policy, proposal compliance, flowdowns, and contract risk management
- Hands-on experience with NDAs, teaming agreements, subcontracts, modifications, contract negotiation, and full-life-cycle contract administration
- Familiarity with GWACs and multiple-award vehicles such as OASIS+, NASA SEWP, Alliant, Polaris, STARS, or similar federal contract vehicles
- Ability to manage multiple clients, priorities, deliverables, and timelines with independent judgment and clear communication
- Comfort advising PMs, executives, and client stakeholders while knowing when to research, escalate, and close the loop
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Excel
- Preferred: prior consulting, shared services, outsourced contracts management, or multi-client advisory experience
- Preferred: contractor-side GovCon experience with direct exposure to federal contracts operations
- Preferred: DoD, DFARS, or agency supplement experience
- Preferred: CFCM certification
- Preferred: experience with SBIR/STTR, OTAs, or other nonstandard FAR-based instruments
- Preferred: experience mentoring junior contracts professionals
