Job Description

Field Technician maintaining T-Mobile’s wireless network across Western Pennsylvania and Northern West Virginia. Troubleshooting RAN, backhaul, 5G, base-station, and power systems while supporting field projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to resolve network performance issues and contribute to outage resolution efforts
  • Manage smaller projects or project segments, delivering accurate status and progress updates
  • Identify and recommend process improvements related to maintenance and repair activities
  • Assist in developing job aids, scopes of work, and procedural documentation with senior technicians
  • Complete required training to maintain current knowledge of systems, products, and organizational standards
  • Perform other duties and projects assigned by business management
  • Support the Engineering & Operations team across Western Pennsylvania to Northern West Virginia
  • Travel within the market, including occasional day travel to surrounding areas and possible assistance along the I-79 corridor

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree OR combination of education and experience deemed equivalent (Required)
  • Acceptable areas of study include Vocational/Technical Training or related field (Preferred)
  • 2–4 years of working experience in Field Operations and maintenance
  • 2–4 years of wireless telecommunications or related experience
  • Knowledge of electronics and interconnecting circuits, including RF transmitters, antenna systems, AAV, fiber, microwave radio, AC-DC power systems, and AI
  • Practical knowledge of Radio Access Network (RAN) architecture, components, and operations
  • Understanding of wireless backhaul technologies and configurations, including microwave and fiber-based solutions
  • Demonstrated experience with, or ability to learn, RAN equipment and 5G NR standards
  • Working knowledge of base station equipment, installation, configuration, and maintenance
  • Familiarity with disaster recovery protocols and ability to execute contingency plans
  • Ability to systematically identify, diagnose, and resolve network issues across hardware and software systems
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute field assignments while managing time, resources, and priorities
  • Ability to provide hands-on technical assistance and field-level support
  • Computer fluency, including Microsoft Office Suite, Internet Protocol, and willingness to use AI-driven tools
  • Ability to work with fiber test, line, and antenna test equipment (Preferred)
  • Flexible hours, including day and night work, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotation
  • Ability to lift 50–70 pounds and work outside in the elements
  • At least 21 years of age to operate a company-assigned vehicle
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Travel within the market required
  • DOT-regulated position
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Preferred)
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment (Preferred)
